WEEK SIX: GIRLS AND BODY IMAGE

If you would like to post your Week Six discussion to the blog rather than Webcourses, do so here as a "reply." If your reply exceeds the word count permitted, break it up into two or three replies. This might help keep discussion organized and allow you to revisit discussion for replies to your post more easily. We'll see how it goes. We can always move 100% of discussion to Webcourses and post other relevant blogs on the blog site depending on how it goes.

Blog Prompts: (which you may follow or depart from): Reflect on your relationship with your body when you were younger. What was your first period experience (or if you are male, how did you learn about periods?) Do you think there is any way to change the social stigma surrounding girls and their period? Do you think girls are educated enough about their bodies? If not, how can we change that?

No! I don't think our youth is educated enough on their bodies! Step 1: Reform the sex education programs in our public schools.
More on this later...

I'm wondering if this might make it difficult for us to respond to specific "week six" posts, so if you would like, you can post your own "New Post" for Week Six (as we have done for the other weeks).

So you can either: Post your own blog post for Week Six as a new post, use Webcourses to post your discussion, or "reply" and post it here. Then you may engage in discussion with your classmates using any of the forums (blog, reply, Webcourses). I think what we'll do from next week on is allow you to either post your discussions on Webcourses or blog, depending on your preference.

Let me know if you have any questions or concerns. Leandra
