Girl invents cellphone EKG

As Catherine Wong points out in the video for her project, millions of people worldwide don't have access to life saving medical care. Specifically, Wong set about to make a bluetooth enabled EKG device that would enable doctors to remotely access the results. Many of the world's people have access to cell phones, but not internet, computers, local physicians or standard EKG tests - which are costly. This device eliminates those barriers to care while being much less expensive. from The Mary Sue
