Why men earn more than women

I came across this article, in which author Warren Farrell answers the question; Why do men earn more then women? He believes that women often choose careers that gives them a good balance between work and life. I would have to say that I do agree with him that women are more likely to choose a job that gives them a good balance between work and life. In his research he found that the higher-paying jobs require longer commutes, longer hours, and safety risks, jobs that men are more likely to choose. He does point out that there are 39 fields that pay women 10% more than men. Some of these are; sales engineers, speech pathologists, advertising managers, and many more. The list can be found in the article that I attached to this post.
