Be The Girl Everyone Loves

"They have ads of how you should dress and what you should look like and this and that, and then they say, 'but respect people for what they choose to be like.' Okay, so which do we do first?"

Kelsey, 16, quoted in Girl Talk

"The statistics are startling. The average North American girl will watch 5,000 hours of television, including 80,000 ads, before she starts kindergarten." -Media and Girls

The above fact startled me. What has this world turned into? Every magazine you read and every TV show you watch is what gives girls their self-esteem. These shows are showing young girls how they "should" look and what is "acceptable." This article titled "Media and Girls" was very interesting. I hope you all will enjoy is as much as I did!
