United Girls of The World Flash Mob

I have always wanted to partake in a flash mob, but never found the chance to. When I seen this video of the United Girls of The World “Let it Be” flash mob I knew I had to do one for the right reasons. It takes a lot for anyone yet young girls to rally around strangers in a mall to sing and perform. All of these women and girls stood for something empowering and it was beautiful the way they all came together to help raise funds for their organization. If anyone were interested in creating a flash mob to help support a great cause I would love to be apart and help orchestrate one.

Awaiting the hand of someone who’s strong and tall.   “A lady only speaks when spoken to.”   Words that have worn her ears before she could lace her own shoes.    “ Don’t eat so much, a lady must always watch her figure.”      The maiden’s first trigger.    You see, she’s been trained and groomed to fit the needs of men.   Before she could even reach the age of ten.    Men are blessed with strength and glor y when they'r e born.    Women? Heteronormativity is a strange, but powerful thing. When a little girl and little boy play together, adults will project these odd notions onto them, making jokes about a future romance between the children. However, when two girls play together, it isn’t likely the same remarks will be made about their relationship. In Susan Shaw and Janet Lee's chapter on Sex and Intimacy, they detail that sexual scripts “provide frameworks and guidelines for sexual feelings and behaviors in a particular community at a particular time” and marks a crucial note that “foundational in these scripts is the oppositional binary of heterosexuality and homosexuality that constructs normative sexuality and shapes sexual feelings and expression” (281).
